Operating System: Windows 7
Video/Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT
Game Hub/Link: Pager
Internet Connection Type: Modem
Firewalls/Routers: Router (Edimax b46524n) with 3 pc connected
Problem Description:
I open BYOND (the pager) and after I enter my user and password it says, on the status bar, "Logged in as Deyefire275 [offline]".
why can't I go online, I can't enter any games, I also can't see the "games" tab.
Even if I try entering a game through the bookmarks it will write "connection failed"...
This is a link to a thread, almost similar to this, just that I upgraded my computer:

I couldnt reply cause the thread is closed.
How can I know if I Can keep a steady TCP connection normally?
I already had this problem with 2 routers, 2 seperate computers and it has nothing to do with my BYOND account.
Please help!
I tried searching other threads in order to solve my case, didn't work.
Steps to Reproduce Problem: No steps, only happens to me :(

I tried it a while ago, and I tried it now again, it still won't work.
You told me on the older thread: "That would actually indicate problems on your connection (both dropping on the connection to BYOND as well as to a game server). Can you keep a steady TCP connection normally?" How can I check it? |

Can you watch something like a TV stream on a server located around the BYOND server?

I can watch a video stream but how do I know if its near the byond server?
Can you give me a link to something like that? Or explain what you mean... cause I don't understand that much. EDIT: I opened CMD and wrote: "ping byond.com" the ping was about 260ms (TTL=51 I dont know whats that) And I also did the same to a goonstation13 server: ping is about 225, sometimes the request times out, TTL=39. While writing this, the pager finnaly went online and it connected to the goonstation server after a long while. It works sometimes but 99% of the time it doesn't, and when it does go online it usually has tons of lag. |

Most unfortunately, I'm not aware of any video stream servers close to BYOND's server either (since 99.9% of them would be blocked for me being German ;)).
As I have no better means to diagnose the issue, could you try a bug report? Please include all the information that was revealed in the threads. Thank you in advance. |

Please include all the information that was revealed in the threads. -------- http://www.byond.com/members/ DreamMakers?command=view_tracker_issue&tracker_issue=1104 this what i posted, and another thing i noticed is that the pager now connects sometimes (its rare) but it would usualy after some time lose connection and it says something like "server authentication failed". -------- Lummox JR wrote on the other thread in bugs: Sticking with the thread in Help is the best choice. This isn't a bug, just a usage issue that can be resolved there. Your router is highly unlikely to be related to this. If the pager isn't contacting the hub, it's not a router issue, since a router wouldn't impact outbound connections. But it could well be a firewall issue, or a problem with your ISP. -------- How can I know if its a firewall problem, and how can I fix it? Also, I alowed the used port (the pager port) in the firewall, and i alowed all of the byond programs themselves in the firewall. doesn't help. If you have any ideas that might help, please post. |

Most unfortunately, I'm out of ideas.
You could disable all your firewalls and check if there is any difference in behaviour (if it suddenly works without issues, you know it is a problem with your firewall). Asides of that, I'm running short on active help I could provide. |
