Savaril requested a tutorial on lighting in the forums recently, and, since I'm in hell doing final exams for lord satan and his scantron minions, I went looking around in my bookmarks.

Checking around the sites, I found an updated Tsugumo Tutorial! If you haven't seen his multi-chapter tutorial on making game art, you should. It's become the classic resource for a lot of techniques used in pixel and game art. Now, he's added sections on selective outlining, lighting, speeding up your work, and run cycle animations.

Also, dug up a PSG 7 tutorial that pretty much covers all things art (well, all the basics anyway) including lighting.

Making animations with Gimp or Photoshop gets a whole lot easier (apparently) if you use GIF Movie Gear. It ain't free, but I've seen some peoples swear by it.

Also, wanted to point everyone pixeljoint's way. It's a fairly friendly community that's been around quite a while. There's some really good stuff in their gallery just waiting to be studied.

Just don't stop posting here! ;P
