A lot of stuff happens in BYONDspace, stuff of which you might not be aware. Important stuff.

Now, thanks to the nifty new home page, you can easily keep track of said stuff. Track your favorite games, friends, blogs, and more thanks to our new BYOND alert system. When something interesting happens, the boring, stationary BYOND atom in the menubar will be replaced with the the new, exciting version !! Click on that to go to your home page and see what gifts await. It's like Christmas all over again!

You'll also notice that the menu is a bit more colorful. Whenever a game you follow on your pager is live, its icon will appear on the bar. You can then view the status by clicking on it.

Our goal eventually is to move all of the pager functionality over to the webspace, to further blur the distinction between the site, the hub, and the pager. That way you'll always be able to stay alert of friends, games, and events in the world of BYOND.
But I don't have any friends and I just want the pager to go away.. :(
Well, the new vision of the pager will just be as a part of the webspace, so it'll probably be more to your liking. You'll also be able to more easily jump into games from the site, with the software pager being a fairly hidden intermediate. I think this is gonna work...
Ahh wonderful.
I fully endorse the movement byond is taking. It is so Web2.0! (/corney, lol).
Nice, it's come in handy already. But uh does the atom icon turn red when any new post gets a comment or just one that you've replied to?
it would appear to only do it for ones ive made a reply to. So far its been this post and the one about the 4k challenge alerting me.
I love you, Foomer.
I love the new additions.

Very cool! I especially love the spinning BYOND icon for alerts.
Yeah but the icons showing the games overlap the 'Search' text for the seach bar.

Can you post a screenshot? I want to see how much we have to prune this in extreme cases.
Well, crap. I was sure I'd tested in IE 7 but it must have been an early version. Guess I'll have to play with the styles.
Sorry for the delay, was working.

Here's a screenshot of the problem, as well as another I've identified. I'm using IE7 on XP.

I can't tell from that screenshot what other problem you saw, besides the fact that you're using IE7 instead of Firefox. But anyway I've got a fix checked in for the menu thing so that should be taken care of shortly. Apparently frelling IE doesn't frelling do what it's frelling supposed to unless you stick another frelling nonstandard <nobr> tag in there.

I have the same problem on Firefox on XP
I'm not sure what problem you're referring to, Chibi-Gohan0. The one with the menu dropdown appearing in the wrong place was only an IE issue, and it was resolved two days ago.
The quicklinks to your watched games at the top bar overlap the search bar. http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/5854/anim002ev0.png
Ah. That problem has two causes.

1) We have not yet limited the number of icons to something more reasonable like at most 10.

2) You're seeing the old, cached version of menu.css. If you clear your browser's cache or hit Shift+Reload, you should see the correct spacing in the menu bar.
Ah, yes. Clearing cache fixed it. thanks
