My wife and I recently bought the kids a Rubik's Cube... not entirely sure why now that I think about it...
Anyway, way back in my formative years, my parents had a few Rubik's cubes in the house. I recall my dad showing me a few tricks with it; but not really how to solve it. I had figured out how to get one side (9 blocks) solid, plus the band of blocks underneath (8 blocks + 1 middle). However, I never really knew how to solve the bottom 9 cubes.
Thankfully, the internet has quite a few great links to help solve Rubik's Cube. I used this one:
