If you've seen worse, then it must of made you blind; because I wasn't even aware something like this one here was possible on an unintentional basis. No offense to the OP intended, after all trying is better than nothing.

He has a huge mess of unavailable anime games in his favorites and the only comment in his shoutbox was a "spam test" he wrote to himself to see if he could spam his "hosting services" across the forums
Seems legit | |

I wouldn't say it's great, but compared to the slew of anime-styled bald men in diapers, this icon is refreshing. It's hard to say that one icon is bad. If you had this, along with lots of other similarly drawn icons in a fun game, hardly anyone would complain about the graphics. You'd need to draw better than this to be an artist, but you don't have to be an artist to make a game =)

Actually this would be pretty cool if it was symmetrical. One side of the body is twisted, I can't see how this would happen by accident. The legs are also very small for a body of that size.
Would look decent enough for a game anyway.

The comment above me has a good point. If you want critique, and if you indent to keep trying, the nice thing about spriting a simple standing human body facing north or south is that it can be pretty much symmetric at its core (minus the issue of lighting, but you can stay away from that for now and shade later). So, if you manage something on one side that you really like, flip it and put it on the other. Otherwise it can look awkward like this does. It's really not a horrible amateur attempt. If you cleaned up the torso a bit and make it more straight and symmetric, it would make the overall sprite look much better and probably help you pick off other flaws.

Those things aren't necessarily flaws. Straight lines and symmetry tend to look nice but there's no reason things have to be drawn that way. Actual humans are proportioned differently and don't have black outlines. If this is an attempt at creating a photorealistic image of a human it needs work, but for a game's art it's harder to say that something is bad (especially when you're viewing just one icon). A lot of people focus on making every sprite look perfect, but as long as you have a consistent look the actual quality of each individual icon is usually irrelevant (it also helps if the game is fun).

I couldn't agree more. However, for this guy trying to attempt to create a human body, less complicated is probably better, especially since he may not be a very good spriter to begin with. You may notice he called his own base horrible. Some advice to simplify it would make it easier for him to practice and also a little encouragement if he sees that his sprites are looking okay to him.
