Not a bug
Intended behavior (for the time being)
BYOND Version:N/A (Website Bug)
Operating System:Windows XP Pro
Web Browser:Firefox 3.0.10
Status: Not a bug

This is not a bug. It may be an incorrect use of syntax or a limitation in the software. For further discussion on the matter, please consult the BYOND Developer forums.
Descriptive Problem Summary:
When you edit a comment that you've made on an issue on the bug tracker, that issue will be bumped to the top of the list.

Numbered Steps to Reproduce Problem:
1.) Make a comment on an issue.
2.) Let it fall down a little bit.
3.) Edit that comment.

Expected Results: The issue to stay where it is.

Actual Results: The issue gets bumped up to the top.

It seems like it might not be a bug, but shouldn't someone be making a new comment on the issue if they have additional information, as opposed to editing a previous comment, so that someone can be alerted about it?
Currently the behavior is intentional so that the issue gets bumped up whenever there's any new or changed information. Unfortunately there's no programmatic way to differentiate between a minor edit and actual new information. If we gave people a "this edit contains new information" checkbox, you can be sure it'd be abused anyway just to bump.

We can give it some more thought, but if we decide to keep the current behavior, then this issue will be resolved as such.
I can see the utility in the current behavior. It just seems like as the bug tracker gets more and more used, that could easily get to be a problem as new reports are appearing, but old ones are potentially getting bumped to the top simply because someone made a typo in a comment.
