pixel jumping on a platformer

okay so i am making a game that is a hardcore platformer but i am stuck on the icon direction. I am not sure how to make a character jump with the right icon state of west or east in sidescroller please help thanks.

First, I think this should be in Developer Help, most likely because its a code problem and not design concept

Second, You don't show good examples of whats wrong so people will probably give you an answer your NOT looking for.

Are you using ForumAccount's Sidescroller library? If not, you should be. There are several demos, review them and pay attention to set_state(). For your icon to be directional, in the dmi editor just hit the camera button to make a multi frame dmi and edit the west and east facing states.
