Hi there,

I used to play BYOND a long time ago on a windows computer that I don't use any more and just discovered Wine recently, so decided to give it a try. I followed the guide found here to install both it and BYOND - http://davidbaumgold.com/tutorials/wine-mac/ .

Everything works perfect except I can't seem to join any games. I find it odd that Byond removed the click-a-link-to-join-this-game system that they had and that you have to type the world's address in manually via file > open location, but anyway, I can type in whatever address I want of any game that's hosted, but it just won't join or even open up a new window for that game. The pager remains the same as if I never went to file > open location in the first place.

I can try to add a game to my favorites, but all that does is pull up "BYOND Central is not accessible." You guys seem able to use Wine just fine with BYOND, and the application's test page at WineHQ says that everything is good with the application... so am I doing something wrong? Or is this a recent problem? How do I connect to games?

Edit: I'm also using OS X version 10.5.8 on a white MacBook. The message "err:tooltips:TOOLTIPS_Timer How did this happen?" also appears in Terminal sometimes.

Edit2: I found that using
wine ~/.wine/drive_c/Program\ Files/BYOND/bin/byond.exe BYOND.world.1417436019
in Terminal would open up Dream Seeker and get it to attempt to connect to Chatters, but I get the following errors in Terminal and Dream Seeker never changes from it's "Launching world..." text:
