Look at my forum, although I put the categories for them as the same name they still split.

That's just how the software works; it creates a new category when two consecutive forums have different assignments. To get around this, you just have to order your forums so that they are grouped into categories accordingly. I went ahead and made this change for your forum (all you have to do is update a few of the pulldown orders).
