Hey guys! I've been thinking of how the Earth Tatva(earth element controller) would look. When I thought of them three character designs came into my mind and I sketched them on paper. And then, I tried to pixel them to see how they would look as pixel with different colors.

Here is what I made:

These are WIPs
All of these are here just to give an idea of how they would look. I want all of you who look at this to let me know which one looks the best so that I can work on it to make it look better.

I personally like the middle one with brownish color.

Thanking everyone in advance.

I prefer the first design, though that could be because its the one with the most detail so far. Also I recently made a creature that looks like design two second color scheme.

Oh wow! I love that creature you made! It's lovely! But, I must say it looks more of a summon or monster. Maybe, if we add rocky legs to it, it might look cooler, can I try it if you dont mind?
I'd stick to design 2 and add some rock textures along with some mossy grass, some vines, or even a forrest.
Design 3.

Sure if you want to try editing it. Obviously not to put in your own game, but for knowledge sake.
Here is the second design color scheme 1.

PALETTE TWO:

I tried to use a weird color palette. I did so because I thought this would look good when some greenery will be added to this piece.

Let me know what you think of this!

C&C welcome!
nice shading
use more geometric faces for the rocks on the character. The first palette looks better. The big issue for me is how the arms look like they are made of feces rather than stone because of the lack of a defined shape and the strangely placed highlights

study how zane highlights his rock surfaces if you want to get a good idea of how it should be done
It's an improvement for sure. But still looks messy. Is he going to be floating around or planning on adding legs?

The pallete could be a little better, try increasing the contrast a bit.
Update!(Update done on the basis of comments by Jordan and Yut Put; Thanks to them!)

Edit:

C&C welcome!

@Jordan11 Yes, it'll be floating.
Damn, I was editing the icon when suddently Deam Maker decided to crash on me for some reason..sigh..I'll try to make it again.
Alright, this one didn't turn out as nice as the first but it's something. I think I over did it with the rock texture but it's just to give you an idea on how you can do it. You can even add another shade for highlights. I mirrored the right side a bit but hope it helps anyways.

Now that I look at it again, you can even add some floating rocks beneath him.

Edit:

I kind of liked the first of these two better, just with a little less focus on the highlights. The edit just kind of takes them out.

But the improvement is drastically better. If you ever find yourself needing to draw a material you don't have much experience drawing, using a reference or a role model to try and replicate the style will almost always help you improve your art and improve yourself as an artist.

I like this better ^^ but the hands don't look like hands that much

I'm really rusty.

I just went off your edit, fixed some lines, and shading, i wanted to removed the light shade so you get a clue how it looks. but i think you can add lots more texture and such to it.

just think how you would make a base and add texture to it slowly. Honestly you can actually browse around for some ideas. But i believe you're just not sure what you want currently. Keep working on it and you'll get it.
Thanks a lot Jordan11, Yut Put and Mesmerise for your comments!

1:

This is based on the advise that Mesmerise gave on the piece. I did the same texture as Mes suggested.

I did what I could do. I tried to implement the common rpg perspective and so I tried to shade it that way. But, I still feel that the shading of textures is incorrect and bit messy.

2.

This is based on the suggestion by Jordan11. Again, I tried to implement perspective, I feel shading needs work, etc etc.

I did both of these as quick as possible to show you guys and ask ,"Am I going in right direction?"

Definately an improvement. I like the way it's turning out. Are those green eyes though? they doon't seem to be matching at all..

I'll change them right now to some kind of purple. And some kind of design to make it look somewhat similar to This
