I dont know where to start, I get graphical glitches, cannot log into games and other issues
anyone able to help?

Looks alot like my problem, however, I dont know what the "pager" is, the only refference I get is that my dream daemon cannot connect to it.

The pager is byond.exe. You can also get to the preferences screen through the game menu itself (system menu -> client).

whenever I open the pager it sais "connection failed"

on the pager, go to File->preferences and follow the instructions in the link I provided.

Hi darklord,
Could you check the configurations of the firewalls installed on your computer? Windows firewall, antivirus firewalls, firewalls that no one wants when you install other programs, etc. Make sure they are not blocking or restricting BYOND.exe, dreamseeker.exe, or dreamdaemon.exe Good luck! | |

Ah, running BYOND on parallels desktop for mac has been caused this same issue for at least two other users.
Unfortunately, we were unable to find a solution in the other two cases, Here are some suggestions that may help. 1) Check the BYOND folder (From the pager > File > Preferences > Advanced > Open user directory) and check to confirm that this folder isn't marked as read only, or hidden. 2) Make sure that any firewall (mac based or windows based) isn't blocking BYOND (or any parallels desktop program, windows, etc). 3) Try to uninstall BYOND and then run the BYOND installation as an administrator (right click, run as administrator) Please respond back if any of these helped, or if you have any other information that may be useful. | |

Alright, it appears that the file is read only, I tried unchecking the box however when I click on properties again it gets checked again, looks like we are making progress though.
