I was thinking, of a cool game.

Called "The Zombie Apocalypse".

The plot is that you start off in a ordinary home, and a zombie horde is about to attack it.

You can go around the house and collect weapons that any house would have, knife, frying pan, plates, etc;

What do you guys think?
What would actually be more fun is instead of just going out and killing all of the zombies. You are trying to make your house secure. So players could move chairs and desk in front of doors, board up windows, and so on. So essentially, it is a Night of the Living Dead game.

Sure, if there is a breach you can use the items around the house to kill off the zombies. But the main goal is to secure your house to ensure survival.

Yeah, that sounds like a good feature too.

Yes, that would make it better. But to give you more chance of survival there could be a special potion you could find, it would turn the zombie you touch it with back to a human. But it would be an npc on your side.
*cough* cliche.

What?
Foomer's caught up on the fact that the zombie theme itself is a cliche, and failed to consider the change in environment, pacing, and gameplay discussed here

Ohh.
This idea has already been done.

every idea that will ever come into existence throughout all of humanity will have already been done. the point is how often it's been done and just how similar it is to the previous occasions
Indeed as is how well it's done.

I for one think you should try it.

If you do it right it would be an awesome game.

Thanks, I'm going to try =l

Zomibies AND frying pans!? this has to be fun :P
Why make it like the rest of the Zombie games on BYOND? The generic kill zombies all day for high-scores is boring.

Why not include quests to get certain upgrades for weapons, etc.
The better your weapons, the quicker they go down, higher level, stronger the Zombies are.
This would include adding towns, dungeons, swamps, forests, etc.
How about professions? Hunter (Specializes in range weapons, melee etc) Medic (Upgrades help them make better Antidotes, that can stop infections, cleans wounds, rejuvenate bodies etc)

You know? Make it more interesting, none of the BYOND Zombie games have these type of things, they're just filled with killing zombies all day.

How the fuck is that entertaining?
Quests , Guns , Melee , AI (smart enough not to run into the damned things)

Zombies , Zombie bosses/special , combining , food and hunger , drugs , money like a cerancy they would use if it happened ect (fallout 3 uses bottle caps)
Disease , Classes , Citys , camps

thats all i could think of

Heh.. A long time ago I was working on an ORPG for BYOND that was a lot like Mystic Journey, except it was zombie themed and shared similar ideas to Resident Evil.

The world map consisted of a large town in which you could go from building to building and look for new equipment and stuff. All the while the world slowly gets flooded with zombies.

Depending on the area you are locked in, you would be able to secure zones for protection. One of my favorite features was getting in a car to travel and running over zombies.

Of course there were NPCs scattered about that sent you on quests, like to collect fresh water, food, ammo supplies, ect.

People could also choose if they started alive or undead. Undead characters were basically the PVP element of the game, as they had to rely mostly on killing other players or NPCs.
