This feature has already been implemented, or is already achievable with existing methods.
Just like notepad++ and many other programs a great feature is right clicking a tab and selecting

close all
close all but this

Nifty features if you have a lot of tabs open.

This already exists in the latest version (the close all is in the Windows menu, the others in the right-click context).
