New class project :]

I have uploaded a trial version of Spirit Age, open for all BYONDers to enjoy. We want to get a lot of feedback and the easiest way is to let you play on your own time as we update the game so that we can all help to develop the best experience.

All we really want from you are bug reports and your suggestions, criticism & praise are also very welcome.

There are quite a few things which are not available like the market & the majority of the skilltree. We can't give it all away during these earlier tests :), hope you enjoy it none the less.

Does it run slow and take up a lot of usage for anyone else?
I'm not.. naked?.. but you're always supposed to start off BYOND games naked! This doesn't make any sense!?

Well I didn't find any bugs. That was pure awesome and full of comedic genius, especially the fountain *wink wink*.
I notice if I don't have a target I can move faster punching than I can running.
Actually.. fireball seems kind of bugged and pretty useless compared to flamethrower and yeah Cloud Magic, me and my friend are testing it and you can outrun someone running by spam slashing your sword/punching. It's hilarious.
I would like to say that the combat system is pretty intense and enjoyable, though. Props!
At some times, i would be targeting a puff withen 5-8 tiles away. As i try to attack another creature, i start to attack the puff i had targeted earlier and not killed. Idk if thats a bug, or im not doing it right? :3

Two bugs I've found thus far;

1. When Constable Jonathan gives you the quest to get some blue and red slime, the quest doesn't check your inventory to see if you have any of the items yet; I had one red slime when I started the quest and the quest objectives thing on the lower left didn't pick up on it.

2. This happens occasionally when clicking on the help(?) button on the top right of the screen;



Sometimes some of the text won't be removed when closing the help stuff, either.
L is to open/close quest details, which would allow you to see the help info better. Also the quest is to gather said slime, not to use what you already have, so it's not neccesarily a bug.

It's still a matter of good game design to hide it when opening another menu.

That's hardly an excuse. Take any of the big MMOs into thought; all of them knowledge whether or not you have quest items before sending you on a quest for said item(s). Especially for early "gather the slime/puffs/whatever" quests that MMOs never fail to give.

Yes it is. "Gather 10 slime", if you already have 1 you should only have to gather 9 for a total of 10. Not have to gather 11 to have it pick up you gathered 10.
Last one I found(which may or may not be intentional) is that if you're walking and attack with a sword, you will automatically be set to running(which I find irritating).

Anyway, you guys are making some great progress! I love the combat system and how well the environment flows together. Keep it up! (:
