This issue has been resolved.
Descriptive Problem Summary:

When my pager type is set to "None" in the preferences menu checking or un-checking the "Show friends who are offline" causes the program to crash.

Numbered Steps to Reproduce Problem:

1. Open BYOND and go to File: Preferences.
2. Turn off the pager (Pager type:none)
3. Check or uncheck the "Show friends who are offline" command and a crash ensues.

Workarounds:

This is not a big deal really, as, why would you really do it while you can't see the list anyways? But, never the less, the program does crash, tested on Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit.
Oh, and a situation you left out, is it actually there is more to it than that.

When changing the setting at all for "Show friends who are offline" the byond program will crash if it is currently set to "None" even if your trying to set it to "Public" and switch the "Show friends who are offline" checkbox, it will still result in a crash, which is actually more offending, because you might change that and change it off from "None" while your in settings.

However, you wont be likely to change the other option along with "None" considering that it wouldn't affect anything anyways I don't think.
