This feature has already been implemented, or is already achievable with existing methods.

How about in addition to just having a single featured game; a section like the newest members/top & recent benefactors could appear.
It could show:
Featured games: 2 Random games
Top Rated Games: The 2 most "Popular" Games
Most Played Games: Either the 4 games that currently have the most players online, or the 4 games that have had the most players over the last month or so.
This display would exclude all anime games.
