This issue has been resolved.
Moving forum topics to a new category causes them to be marked as unread.

thats happens, because each topic has an address and when u read that topic the address of the topic gets stored in your 'already read topic list'.So when you change your Topic's address which won't be there in the read list, it appears to be unread. Same applies to posts.

At least thats what I think.

I doubt if the Devs r gonna do something about it.

Dunno, attaching a post to 0 (making it into a new topic) doesn't mark that post/topic as unread.

This has been an issue in the forum software for quite a long time. Unfortunately Tom has been unable to resolve it as of yet. It's probably not a high priority issue.

Well, its not like it really breaks anything, its just annoying.
