Workarounds:

I'm having the same problem and can't find a damn solution anywhere.
This usually has nothing to do with the server, BYOND uses some html, but doesn't do that.

I suggest running an antivirus and anti malware scan, because it has to do with you.
Ive been having this problem too and dont think its a malware problem.
This is a malware problem, as a matter of fact. My mother used to have this problem. (Terrible with a computer, downloads all kinds of stuff)

BYOND, or rather SS13 uses HTML screens to show the menus and the sort, which triggers the "virus" that opens random pages, usually containing advertisement (55 cents for a pill bottle of viagra, who knew?!).

In any case, run a virus scan, it might help you with the issue.

Right, because not thinking has helped them a lot, has it not?
Well magic mountain... Laser50 does run a server...
I think he beats you on understanding code.
I Fixed it a good while ago, I just forgot how. I think i has something to do with your internet browser opening a htm. file.

Let byond.exe do it instead.
