Now that I am hosting multiple game servers on multiple physical servers in multiple countries (heh!), I ended up tagging each of my servers with the country they reside in (so players can choose a server that will probably have good lag for them).

It would be a nice feature if the BYOND website (and possibly pager) could automatically geolocate a server's IP and display what country it resides in (using flag images, or something else) automatically.
Wouldn't it be better to just display their ping?

Why not both, then?

*shrug* I don't really care where a server is located if I have a better connection with one in another country.

Country is generally a good indication of how latency to a server there will be.

In real games, running dedicated servers, most likely. But on BYOND, where hosts are using their home dial up connection, not necessarily.

"real games". Heh.

Though the dial up thing is probably true.
