I don't think that the community is less active, rather it is more quiet about activity.
It's mainly about the lack of games being posted now that there are no rips. Not enough BYOND users know how to actually program instead of only play the games, and those that do are sometimes too lazy to do it.

I dunno, in the last month or so I've noticed an increase in the number of games coming out. October and November were virtually dead months, but with the End of the World contest we saw a dozen new games, on top of at least another ten or so that were listed recently.

Yep I have to agree with this. This is also my favorite iteration of BYOND.

I also enjoyed the short transition period when the games were still organized like this AND there were member's blogs.
The only reason I logged onto the website everyday was to read this 'junk' - as people call it -. There was so much more substance to the members of BYOND just from the blogs. It felt like an insight into their lives. I miss the blogs.

I honestly don't think the community is less active right now. I think it just seems like it because now instead of actively posting in blogs, a lot of the community is lurking on the forums, or posting blogs or videos elsewhere, or just generally remaining quiet while they work and/or lurk around.

A few major names have unfortunately become less active, or left BYOND, but some new and old members have risen up pretty well lately too so that helps counteract that part. Though, new member wise it's mostly artists not developers.

Perhaps you are right.

I agree completely. The blogs provided both a personal and artistic output for both players and developers.
There hasn't been any new games thats an MMORPG that would attract players we need more multiplayer games on the site the only real RPG multiplayer games our the rips it seems. So we must all wait for Spirit Age or just me.
damn i forgot how much it changed
I miss the old BYOND though.
