Looks cool, but seems excessive. I guess it would be nice to run into more ore as I mined but I don't really feel the need for a bunch of other tools which are basically the same.

You should make objects that can be set on the ground for decoration with these ores, then at least they have a real purpose(Although you could already use the solid blocks as more wall color options).
