Could the new directx-based versions have the option of filtering like the old openGL versions did? Although many people might think it 'blurry', on some cards it's a much nicer option for when the map is an odd size.

I'll have to dig through the docs, but I assume this is do-able. I won't make it a preference, though-- I'll just use it if it looks better in general (since 99% of the people are going to use the default). If it turns out that these kinds of things make a big difference depending on the game, we could possibly have a _developer_ configuration (as part of the map control).
