I just bought GTA IV on Steam sale, and it's downloading at 300 KB/s for a game that's apparently 13 GB. Is the game worth that much space on my Hard Drive?

Lol GTA V is so out GTA IV is shit either get GTA V or San Andreas.

I'm not a console peasant, so I can't get GTA V. D: On top of that, due to my age, my parents would probably freak out if they saw it on my deskptop/Steam library.

Not necessarily.
1. My parents have poor judgement when it comes to "mature" content. 2. GTA V, from what I've seen, is more suitable for a much more mature audience than the people who play GTA IV. GTA V apparently has graphic sex scenes, some guy's penis, and a scene where you have to use devices to torture someone. I mean, I'd probably be allowed to play GTA V in the same way I'm allowed to watch porn, but the difference is that GTA V's not as easy to hide when your parents know how to use the Steam client. |
Honestly, I was a diehard fan with every GTA outside of handheld releases. However, GTA IV's changes turned me off so much that jumped to Saints Row and I'm not planning to come back. I couldn't get past the first few hours. The scavenger hunt for upgrades is gone, the driving/shooting are different and there's too much focus on story/NPCs. I might toy with Episodes From Liberty City at some point, but I'm more interested in getting SR4 someday or even playing through SR2.

Saints Row was good till SR4 (super powers threw me off) and after SR2 they got rid of a lot of character creation things. GTA IV threw me off but GTA V brought me back.

Eh, I'll just install whatever mods make GTA IV better if I don't like it. Just now hearing about the modding community made me feel a little better about my purchase.

I played GTA IV for 60 hours. I'm not sure why people absolutely hated it. I had a blast, especially with multiplayer.
