Theoreticly, the weekends are the time when more players SHOULD come to varying games.

My question to you guys, thus, is:

It this true/false?
Why?

I would also appreciate comments why other weekdays would be more popular.
Due to the dominant age group on BYOND, the majority of players go to school. Weekends are, of course, days off from school.
fridays are good, nothing on TV lol

Ah, but this could potentially lead to plans being made for the "wholly" free time at the weekend for socialising or scheduled events. This would place the "peak" time for "gaming" later in the afternoon or early in the evening, when some casual gameplay is done as a leisure activity.

...depending upon the time zone, yes. :)

Well, yes. Naturally it would depend on the timezone. You'd likely end up with a fairly average but fluctuating number of people between, shall we say, 4pm GMT and 12pm GMT.
In response to Deathguard
You sure about that? i find that 70% of the people on this are american, around 25% are european(cant spell for my life)
In response to Rushnut
Well, we can't possibly throw percentages around with any certainty, but a 70/30 split seems a little extreme, and there are probably some non-Europeans that aren't in an American timezone too.
Starting at about 3pm with the Europeans getting on, then ending at about 11am when the farthest Asians and Americans get off is about right, I believe.
Still, it's it's perfectly reasonable to align a server's uptime with evenings on US time-zones, regardless of the split - all the players in the world won't do much good if the host is enormously inconvinienced. Likewise for Asian, European or Australian hosts and so on.

pfft, i think in order tocater for everybody, then for the uk from around 10am-10pm (GMT) and for america its more like 5pm till 5am, from personal 24/7 hosting experiance :p
In response to Rushnut
A specific time schedule (set up from one timezone) for worldwide multiplayer games is just a bad idea, period.
In response to Kaiochao
while thats very true, its still intresting to know when the peak time to host is, if you make a scheual, and only have X amount of time in it for other things, then you need to know whats the best time to host for the X period
In response to Rushnut
It's all or none. While it could be day on one side of the world, it is night on the other.
In response to Kaiochao
Yea but, The population of one place is more than another :p
In response to Rushnut
Give me a link to poll results of what region BYONDers live.

http://www.<insert one here>.com/ :p

Now, while these values aren't exact because of various reasons, I would claim them to be more precise than a poll, because of language difficulties and generally bad poll participation.

This still points at the general peak hours for weekdays at anywhere from 3:00PM EST to 11:00PM EST, and slaps byonds visitors nearly at 70% Americian time zones
In response to Rtbbvr
70%, *w00t* see, 24/7 hosters DO know somthing. just one small thing. only its not how to spell.
In response to Schnitzelnagler
I find it strange that Brazil would have a greater lead over Canada in those statistics...
