Thank you for bringing this back! I enjoyed ACWraith's posts as well, and I think it's great you're following the same format. Keep it up, Lige! :)
A good start! I always like the Along the Tech Tree weekly, I'm sure I'll like this.
Great post! I forgot how enjoyable it was to read the game news briefs.
Yeah, it's great to see something like this again. I hope it keeps up.
Yay! We are bringing these back!!! +1
Awesome, loving this.
Thanks you for the support, everyone. I intend on adding more to Within BYOND starting next issue, which should be September 15th.

Also, a user requested to be removed from Within BYOND so I had to edit out their entry. While I think it's a bit silly since the information is already out there, I'll be contacting users prior to posting to ensure they're okay with it.

You edited out their entree?

I didn't know you were giving out food too. Why didn't I get any food? Am I not cool enough or something? This is appalling. Everyone else in the thread got an entree and I'm sitting here starving.

I am no longer supporting Within BYOND.
man illiterate people make me laugh. it's "kool kids klub". gir, lige
It's nice to see you working on bringing back Within BYOND Lige. :D

While I haven't done much on the BYOND side lately, I have been thinking about doing something. Right now, been dealing more with C++ as well as learn some more Lua (might use the latter in the near future in some of my C++ projects).

Edit 1: Corrected 'bring' to 'bringing' in the first sentence.
I didn't like it. I loved it. *snaps fingers for applauses*
Waaa I missed these. Thanks for bringing it back! :)
and Thanks for the mentionning me in the ressources part.

Next one should have Kaizoku ;)

Keep them coming!
Not a single mention of SS13? Come on, we're one of the big BYOND games that's been going for like 10 years now.

You can find info on what the 3 main codebases have been adding for the Within BYOND sections here:
http://wiki.ss13.co/Changelog Goonstation
https://github.com/Baystation12/Baystation12/commits/dev Baystation 12
https://github.com/tgstation/-tg-station/commits/master TGstation

For the github links, you can click on the numbers in the "Merge Pull Request #231434134" to get to the PR's description of what got added.

There's not a single mention of Eternia, Dragon Universe, and other games that are most played. I'd rather have these things kept down to the small things that people barely hear about. I hear enough about SS13 everyday and just by Googling I can find information about what's knew. Let other people/projects get noticed from Within BYOND.
SS13 sucks anyway. The only thing fun to do in it is blow stuff up and beat people over the head with a toolbox, but as soon as you blow stuff up and beat people over the head with a toolbox, you get banned. I give the game a 0 out of 10.

The intent wasn't to post about games for the sake of posting. I pretty much take content I find/read, summarize it, and add a link. Regarding SS13 specifically, I had planned on talking to the more popular SS13 developers directly for information about SS13 and development, however, aside from time restraints I honestly didn't know who to contact.

I appreciate the links and will include SS13 in the upcoming article. By any chance, do you know what users are developing for each codebase?
The best way to get ahold of the various SS13 devs is through IRC.

BS12: irc.sorcery.net #bs12 #codershuttle
Goonstation: irc.synirc.net #goonstation
TGStation: irc.rizon.net #tgstation13 #coderbus

Since BayStation 12 and TGstation are open source, anyone can edit, so there's probably at least 500 contributors by now.
Here's a list of anyone who's made a commit to BS12 and TG during the time frame those codebases have been on Github.

No clue about SVN contributors, SVN wasn't all that good on the "track who made what exact changes" side of things.

https://github.com/Baystation12/Baystation12/graphs/ contributors BS12
https://github.com/tgstation/-tg-station/graphs/contributors TGStation

Goonstation's list of contributors based on how much they've added to the farting simulator we all know and love(again, this also may not be the most accurate, but should have the majority of the coders on there):
http://i.imgur.com/j7rqFZf.png

And here's a text list for those who prefer text over graphs.

GoonStation 13 Development Team
Hosts: Rick (#1, #2), Pantaloons (#3, Wiki, Forums), Tobba (#4)

Coders: stuntwaffle, Showtime, Pantaloons, Nannek, Keelin, Exadv1, hobnob, 0staf, sniperchance, AngriestIBM, BrianOBlivion, I Said No, Harmar, Dropsy, ProcitizenSA, Pacra, LLJK-Mosheninkov, JackMassacre, Jewel, Dr. Singh, Infinite Monkeys, Cogwerks, Aphtonites, Wire, BurntCornMuffin, Tobba, Haine, Marquesas

Spriters: Supernorn, Haruhi, Stuntwaffle, Pantaloons, Rho, SynthOrange, I Said No, Cogwerks, Aphtonites

That should be everything.
Probably not worth the time. The goal of a newsletter like this is to help smaller games get attention, something SS13 doesn't need at all, especially not from this. Everyone who reads it already knows what SS13 is, guaranteed.

I know you've been here long enough for regular posters to recognize that you're just being sarcastic as per your usual sardonic, endearing personality, but you really should try to contain yourself while posting in something featured in the "Announcements" section of the board. BYOND has done a lot over the last few years to try to get our reputation back on track and posts like this are a step backward imo.

On topic, great article! Super glad to see something similar to AC's old posts coming back. Really looking forward to the next issue. If I may make a suggestion, maybe consider taking on more writers? That way instead of just the list format for game updates, we could have actual articles on different topics (for an example, see this edition of The 667er).

Toolbox jokes have been made since SS13's inception. Everyone loves a toolbox joke.

Take this image for instance. Look at what's happening to the poor clown!
