Best video file format to use.

Alright...I'm thinking, what's a good sized video format that isn't too lossy...or too big?

Well, there are many different codecs you could use. If you're actually making a video with a program like Adobe After Effects, then your best bet would probably be to download the Lagarith codec, which is lossless and small at the same time (it just takes a long time to compress). If you're just talking about mainstream file formats, maybe mp4 is the way to go. You probably think about a file format as a container, such as .avi. It is not. Lagarith, along with many other codecs, use the .avi container, so don't get your stuff confused.

This may not all be technically accurate, I'm not too big into video formats, etc.

I strongly suggest using the Dirac codec. It's modern, patent and royalty-free, and compatible with AVI, Ogg, and QuickTime container formats. You get choice of lossy or lossless encoding, support for high-def (even on low-powered devices with the Schrödinger decoder now available), and more.
