So Im wondering what method of weather/nighttime would work better screen overlay? or tile base mapped areas?
Screen overlay. Tile based would be hugely wasteful to CPU.
I kind of figured but wouldn't I have to make tiles trigger the screen overlay on the map

One way you can do it is by creating an invisible object and placing it in a line across turf like a barrier. When you walk over them it triggers the weather to change.
yeh I kinda figured that would make sense for when you enter maps
Now the only problem is making a truly decent weather system. :)

My issue is not the overlays (I have those), but rather the time/calender and zone based random triggers. Too much for me to make on my own.
