Ever had the pleasure of doing this?
It's fun, ain't it? Well I made a DMI unpacker, which takes a DMI file and unpacks it into its component images.
So instead the process looks like this:
If nothing else, this should at least make updating your wikis and websites easier, since extracting icons is a pain.

Unfortunately I had to share this under GPL, I'd've preferred MIT, but I'm using some MediaWiki stuff, which forces me into GPL.

Just curious, why do you prefer MIT over GPLv2/3?
|
Because MIT does not force consumers and future developers into GPL. GPL requires that all forks of this remain open-source, whereas MIT allows the use of this software in closed-source applications.
|
Out of curiosity, did you know that you can open DMI files in any image editor that can edit png files?
|
Yup. I actually made a tutorial on this back in the day. Specifically on how to do DMI -> PNG -> DMI.
The PNG -> DMI part can be a bit painful if not done right and super easy if done right. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXDcYtAfjrM |
I've realised I never made a how-to video on this, so I made one now!
