Yup, seeing that our school's network administrators are really really stupid, they blocked BYOND, and every (well... most) server of it too...

games.byond.com
members.byond.com
developer.byond.com
hub.byond.com

All of those. And the reason? They don't want us to play games, or go on places that you can recieve/reply messages. Yet Yahoo, G-Mail, and Hotmail aren't blocked.

So, anyone want to help me get past this obstacle? =(
Yea, my school blocked it too. I was honestly surprised that they knew about it. Then again, they use the Barracuda firewall, so Byond might be part of a "suggested to block" list, which makes me :(

Ah well, just more incentive to run home to check the forums :)
I haven't actually tried this to bypass blocks, but Torpark has automatic proxies. Including secure connections so the school can't see what you are doing. I am not sure I trust the proxies with my key password, but I suppose it is probably safer than having my own browser remember my password.

P.S. Torpark is a browser that goes on a USB jumpdrive. It is a firefox base and is free of spyware or the likes.
P.P.S The first Torpark name is linked, but the CSS ides it, http://www.torrify.com/
Using a proxy website is the best way to get past the blocks. But if your school has a good website blocker, it'll block anything that says proxy. I used www.hidemyass.com a lot. The bad part is, the one day you'd use it, the next day it'd be blocked. It was a constantly updated website blocking service. Bullshit, i say! They need to stop putting blocks on sites because I mean, seriously, it's our choice to go on the websites, and if you get caught the blame is on you. Schools should stop trying to protect students from themselves. It's the students fault, not the schools.
Those aren't proxy websites, they are actual proxies. They would work for any program. I would say that TorPark gives you the greatest chance of success. But like I said before, I am not sure it will work.
Oh no, they actually want you to work in school.

Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I doubt using web-based proxies will work, because of the MySpace epidemic last year. (The schools block on MySpace was bypassed millions of times throughout the year)

And about the TorPark. I can''t use it because I don't have a USB jumpdrive, and really the only time I can go on the internet is in Web Design. (teacher is really strict about USBs) So I doubt having a USB with me will work either.
Personal responsibility, I say! Schools are removing the ability for children to fuck around in class, thus, they are removing any sense of personal accountability.

Get caught watching porn, well, you're SOL, because we're going to hand you a typewriter, an encyclopedia, and a dictionary, and send you into the hallway. It's called actually paying for doing something wrong, not being sheltered from it. Otherwise, how do you learn?

Pretty soon people are going to be making the claim in defense of murder: "Nobody tried to stop me..."...

It's a joke, this is the one aspect of America I will never agree with. College is different, yes, if you sleep through class, and fail out, that's your tuition in their hands. They don't care, you are a warm body that pays their bills.

The rest of the world should operate just like this; fuck around, we'll warn you, keep it up, we'll let you put your own dick in the electrical outlet.

That way, we wouldn't have so many useless people climbing their way up the corporate ladder, and trying to make an internet browser, and ending up with Internet Explorer...
You guys want to know the easy solution? Just bypass the school altogether!

Remote Client FTW! Work on your BYOND projects at school!
My school filters anonymers so I just took a code from one and stuck it on my Ripway so I can access it. o_o
TorPark can be copied to a local drive and ran(Assuming you have any access to local storage). You might even be able to get a live version that can run a CD(I have seen a few live versions of firefox, but that is very limiting). You should get a jump drive anyways. Just slip it into the back of your computer when the teacher isn't looking.

/me used Portable FireFox during highschool, not to bypass anything, but because all of the schools computers had like 5 search bars at once... the horror!
Yeah, my college blocked YouTube the other day too...
If your school uses RM Computers have fun it toke me 5mins to bypass the system and make me admin. Muhaha but i don't go to that schoool any more O.o
lol, I figured out that you can access the developer site through http://secure.byond.com at school.

I didn't know you could do that. :P
