Hello readers! I spent a fair amount of time this past week working on a Jeopardy! game board look-alike (because lets be honest, while using Excel or Powerpoint to simulate Jeopardy! is an impressive use of Excel/Powerpoint, it simply doesn't do the game justice) so a group of scouts could spend 20 minutes questioning 31 answers. Now lets catch up what everyone else has been working on!

BYOND

Work on the BYOND suite of tools has been mostly focused on fixing one outstanding bug that most of us have encountered or at least heard of. Earlier today, Lummox JR released 510.1329, a beta patch that, all bugs aside, will resolve the issue of large icons disappearing from view prematurely. This has been given new-found priority with the additions made in 510. Lummox JR explains the process and solution he found in his weekly dev-logs, and along the way, found some code that supports the long requested addition of mobius-strip maps.

BYOND Games

Kozuma3 has been working on the second generation of the RPG Elora. The original was primarily a text based game, but its second rendition holds all of its commands in interface menus, and requires little, if any, keyboard input. The current demo shows how combat, looting, equipping, and trading works.

Kumorii is sharing details of the big upgrade to Feed, with a splurge of animated pictures and text. 34 weapons are in the game, 11 enemy variation, and 13 wave styles. Spectators are in, knockbacks happen, and capture the flag is on the way. Game release is currently preped for August.

Pixel Realms shared a few bits from their upcoming RPG Severed World. The first gif showed their multi-server cluster set-up in action. The second is a much shorter scene, but take a moment to enjoy the details, as there are plenty of them.

Devourer Of Souls is back with another update log for Sigrogana Legend 2, the flag bearer of which is a new play style option at character creation, where the flexibility to choose any class is reduced, in return for a higher max level and more active skills.

Land of Fire just keeps looking more and more impressive with each and every development log. A week ago, Pixelcomet followed up on the combat design modifications they were conducting, showing the key combinations and results of five attacks. They created a few new articles of clothing, then took a break to create an impressive HP bar. This week, we see the start of a new login and character creation page. He ends this week with a mysticial parallax background, like the one you see here.

Vexatious was released to the public by RareScar recently, and he's looking for feedback on his challenging sidescroller. There are currently five levels for players to traverse, with three medals to be gained for each level.

AceBloke shared information on the progress on the current update for Wargames. As does always seem to happen, a inconsistent bug is holding up the process of AI countries, and the scenarios in which to play against them in. This makes the release cycle timeline uncertain, ranging from days to weeks.

DarkTemplarX96 published a hub page for Element 115, an in-development zombie survival game presumable caused by Ununpentium. He's currently polling for opinions on how to go about managing waiting for the round to begin. In other developments, medals have been shown off as well.

Movement blockades have been the focus of the Lux updates over the past two week. Bravo1 has shown .GIFs of the latest enemy, a robotic ladybug with a large impassable barrier generators. Then on his Twitter page, he demonstrated how the rover gets around on movable platforms, while the creator navigates the beta bugs subforum.

Flick has been working on little pixels for his minesweeper-esque Fantasweeper. Characters have been created, icons for the map have seen improvement, along with the interface graphics and logo.

Avalon by Taint_thewizard has progressed to version 1.22. Guarding has been added to help reduce damage intake, background graphics have been fixed, and new player icons have been added.

Manio is taking a small break from his other projects to work on a round-based team survival game called Krampuskarten. The goal of the game is to survive the Christmas Eve against Krampus, the dark side of Saint Nick, and his minions, then vanquish them to the depths from which they came. Those who fall are forced to join Krampus's army against humanity.

Darker Emerald experimented with the latest additions available in the current beta version of BYOND. The planes, appearance_flags, and color are all being used to replace the former dynamic lighting system in zombie shoot-em-up The Last Conflict.

Land of Fire looks beautiful, they're doing incredible pushing the boundaries and that parallax tho mmm.

I still can't believe Wargames is being updated, that is one of the handful of games that I've kept coming back to eventually to play with friends as it felt fair and balanced.
Wooooo. Lots of good looking stuff being made.
I'm going to work on something for the keyboard crap tonight.
Everyone should checkout the new game called Bleach: Ryuk, or Bleach Soul Wars, that is coming. It looks like the most incredible game on byond so far. Better than some nintendo ds games. Zagros is still working on it, but coming soon.
