Does anyone have any suggestions for a hosting service?

The server absolutely has to be windows based. For reasons I still haven't been able to figure out, strange issues pop up when trying to host the game on linux.

The game is pretty rsc intensive. Has a community of around 200 players with 20-60 active at a time.

I've been looking around recently and having some difficulties finding a reliable service.

I've been using the Two-core plan for 2 or more years now and have had minimal issues with downtime or connection issues. You get messages and/or emails ahead of time for planned maintenance if any. Support is welcoming and helpful.

Seems like that service is going to end up costing around $30 a month. Also i thought byond didnt support multi cores. Wouldnt a faster single core host be a better option?
I've been using nfoservers for about 4 years now i can attest to not having many issues with them. Also no you don't need 30$ a month. You get the Single Core offer, byond games only uses a single core you don't need more then that. so 7.99$ a month.

I'm surprised to see the prices raised since I got in. I currently pay $20.00 for my Windows-based 2 core VPS. Apparently they are charging a Microsoft-related fee now though and that raised the prices $10.00.

You are right; BYOND doesn't use more than one core. In the past, the One-core plan could only use Linux platforms, so I ended up going with the Two-core. However, I tend to use my VPS for more than BYOND, so it works out.

I suppose there are cheaper options out there; it's up to you though.

Anyone have any experience with this service? The servers seem pretty good. Have a few single core options and the price looks pretty good.

$10/month for 2gb ram, 2+ghz single core, 30gb storage on a ssd, 2tb @ 1gbps bandwidth, and it supports windows.
Virmach are great, but you've really got to look at the AUP on all of these hosts...

vii. attempts to harm VirMach’s servers or other servers in any way (Attacks, CPU intensive programs for no reason, etc);

High CPU: Customer’s Service cannot burst to 95-100% usage for more than five (5) minutes and cannot average higher than 50% usage within any two (2) hour period. Packages advertised to include dedicated CPU, Services with the high CPU option, and any customized Service plans that include high CPU option may burst to 100% at all times.
High Load: Customer’s Service cannot have a 15-minute load average higher than the number of full logical cores assigned and cannot have a 1-day load average higher than 70% of the number of full logical cores assigned.

You're going to get kicked out pretty quick ...

You could always check out https://byondpanel.com just saying..

Isn't byondpanel a linux based host? Pretty sure one of our hosts tried them in the past and we had issues.
I can do Windows licenses on the dedicated boxes.

I never saw a point of Windows on a <4GB VPS.

If you need high CPU and Ram, i recommend for you Contabo Virtual Dedicated, some review here for you: https://easypromocode.com/contabo-review/
Is there some reason why you would want to avoid the linux version?

BYOND is supported on linux and its cheaper for vpn isnt it?
