Since I know at least a few of you are old like me, I was wondering how everyone's work-from-home quarantine is going.

Also happy to soak up any tips on WFH productivity. I mean Lummox has been on this solo-gig for a while, surely he has some home office hacks?

When I was at Google previously, I rarely worked from home more than a couple days a week, and my current company's policy is 1 day a week, but I'm not really used to long-term, mandatory WFH.

I guess my contribution tip is: get up, shower, make the bed and make coffee to kickstart the day with some easy productivity. It definitely makes a difference for me versus just rolling out of bed and opening up my work laptop.

Bonus tip: try not to open League of Legends until after, like, 4pm.
My work from home hack: Getting laid off and not having to work from home.
Do not work in your bedroom.
My work from home hack: Still have to go to work every damn day because you're 'essential'...

I think we touched on this in Discord, but it's important that people you are living with understand when you are working, and what that means. A common issue working from home when it'a shared home is other people asking you to do small errands around the house. The rule of thumb is if they wouldn't ask you to do it when you were in the office, they shouldn't be asking you to do it during your working hours at home.

Otherwise though, you want a good set of headphones + mic, webcam etc, and yeah, don't work out of your bedroom.

Honestly most of the productivity improvements probably should be coming from the company, in terms of https://scaut.slack.com/apps/A11MJ51SR-donut and similar little schemes to make sure people are still socialising with each other in a work context.
