I posted awhile about a game I've been working on that is kind of like a NetHack clone. Well after working with it for awhile I had a random treasure generator, as well as a random equipment and monster generator. My friend Keeth designed a "Dungeon Picker" which would pick a dungeon design out of a list pre-built each time you travel to a new floor in the dungeon.
Well after awhile I decided to go graphical instead the old school text mode. I have this listed under Design Philosophy because it isn't available for public play yet, but will be in the future. The game will be using the classic D20 rules (We've been over this whole D20 thing before, I don't wish to discuss it anymore.) and will feature a base town with a yet unknown number of dungeons. The players' task, which is still unknown at this time will include them descending into the dungeons beneath the city and retreating some sort of long lost artifact. There is a max of 99 levels with 99 points per ability. The game will be set up, so even maxed out the end dungeons will require some team effort.
When players die, they will be sent to the town cemtary where they will be a restless spirit. They will have to make their way back to their body in the dungeon to recover. Be warned that, if you take too long, your corpse will rot, dropping all your equipment, leaving it up for grabs to anyone who finds it. This game also won't have a ton of skills or equipment. There is a short list of equipment, skills and spells the players can learn, but it is more about mastering them, then just collecting the most. Here are some screen shots of the early test. I'd like any feedback and suggestions as they come along.
Entrance to the King's Castle
The Wizard's Study
The King's Throne
The King's Bed Room
The Castle Kitchen
Oh, and I like the idea about the corpses rotting if you don't return to their position within a certain amount of time and such.
