Does anyone know how to make a good building icon without using dream maker? which also gives good results?

Well, if you want to use a jpg, gif, bmp, ect. you obviously need to experiment with paint, photoshop, ect. You may want to make the icon bigger than you will need it, so you can shrink it down to make it fit the tiles you need it to.
