I'm looking for a program which can cut up .wav or .mp3 files up nicely and save them to different file names. I need this because my Beatles Discography CD has a whole bunch of wavs, and each wav is one album (each around 45 minutes or so =P). My old way of doing it (opening Windows Sound Recorder, and cutting before and after, rinse and repeat) gets stuff cut off before and after the song, like when the songs go through and match together. If there is any free program which can do this, it would be very useful.

Thanks,

Have you tried MusicMatch?
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ Has a bunch of nice features and does that.

i use audacity to cut chunks out of audio, but there are a number of free programs designed to automatically cut long files into separate songs. check out the free audio stuff and snapfiles.com.
Audacity is awesome!
