I have the computer said in the title, and I need a graphics card that would be compatible with it. It's one of those compact type computers so the graphics card also needs to be compact to fit in it. There's a PCI slot and an AGP slot (I doubt a AGP card would fir in the damn thing though). Right now, the integrated graphics card is only 96MB of VRAM. I want a graphics card with at least 256MB of VRAM. I'll settle with 128MB of VRAM only if I absolutely have to. The computer supports DDR RAM, but I don't know if it would support a graphics card that utilizes DDR2 or whatever RAM. Anyone have any ideas?

Which one would you recommend for my old piece of junk? Would I be able to get anything higher than a DDR graphics card?

Be careful, I had a form factor PC like yours with a AGP slot on it, and when I got a video card for it, I didn't even realize that for some odd reason the AGP slot was raised up and only a AGP card half of the size of a normal one would fit. I had to run my computer with the case off so I could have my AGP card.

I am fully aware of that, as stated in my original post. Now can someone answer the questions in my second post? I learned that if you use a DDR2 or higher Video Card in a DDR computer, it will basically bottle-neck the speed. In other words, the video card won't reach full potential, meaning I wasted my cash, even though DDR components are more expensive than DDR2 components.

A new question...
Now that I look at the AGP cards, the part on them that connects to the motherboard AGP slot, looks exactly like PCI cards' part that plugs into the PCI slot on your motherboard. Why? I don't know. I may not even have an AGP slot afterall.

I was thinking of that one. It's DDR and is 512MB. $40 isn't bad for a video card of that size. My main concern right now is "is it too tall for my computer?"

EDIT or this...

They are always different colors. AGP slots are usually brown.

Who mentioned anything about the color?

He's saying that if the color is brown it probably is an AGP slot, but it is probably better to actually check.

Well I have a white (maybe off-white?) slot and a brown slot. I know for a fact the white one is a PCI slot, and the brown is probably an AGP slot, but I've seen about 3 different "plugs" that go into those types of slots so I'm a little confused
Okay I noticed something else...

My AGP slot has only the single split in it, where DDR AGP cards have 2 splits. Does that mean my AGP slot will only take DDR2 AGP cards? (DDR2/GDDR2 AGP cards have only the 1 split)
Okay with further research, I learned that I have 1 AGP 4x/8x slot (can't tell 4x or 8x) and a regular PCI slot (meaning not PCI Express).

I am now looking into buying...

It's 256MB and is "low profile" but the bracket looks too long to fit inside my miniature piece of crap called a computer. If anything, I'd end up cutting a small slit into side of the shell of the case.

Next in line is...

128MB, lower than the ASUS one. Again "low profile" but that they like to make those brackets retardedly long and unnecessary. I'd cut the unnecessary portion of that bracket off if anything.

Anybody have any other recommendations? I also need a PSU upgrade that could fit inside the 4600C's shell too. 160W is lower than dirt in my opnion. Who the hell would make a PSU with only 160W of power? >_>

That looks like it's part of the GeForce 4 MX series. Possibly the worst card you could buy.

Since you have an AGP slot, make sure you get an AGP card. (PCI = bad) Also, not a 4 MX.

Really though, you'll want to get a computer with slots for PCI Express.

You wanna cough up a few hundred dollars for a brand spankin' new computer with shiny new PCI-E slots? :) I don't think so. So let's not suggest that ever again shall we? ^-^
