Why is it that Anime Fan Games can't be posted in the C.A. but Star Wars can? Isn't that a fan game?
I was wondering the same thing.

Same thing for Eragon. Of course, I'm actually more curious as to why someone likes Eragon, as it's basically Christopher Paolini's attempt to rip off every story that ever was.
Because Anime has a very large venue to post classified ads in (the BYOND Anime forum), whereas other fan games do not. If you want help on an Anime game, you can head over to the Anime guild. Other fan games don't have that kind of specific place, so they only get to post in the general Classified Ads.
Because ...

Due to the popularity of Anime-themed games on BYOND, we prefer that you post requests for assistance in the creation of such games in the BYOND Anime Classified Ads forums.

It's purely pragmatic. BYOND cannot realistically deny it's rather large fan-game oriented userbase, however similarly it also wants to promote the production of original works. As such, the bulk of the fan-games (Anime fan-games) are directed to a forum where they are more likely to get a positive response, permitting more first-page time to original works in the Dream Makers classified ads in the process. It works out as a win-win, as the uptake of Anime fan-games in the Dream Makers classified ads section has classically been very poor, due to the preferences of the regulars to this forum. Where-as with BYOND Anime's classified ads section, the readship is most definitely more Anime oriented and thus such adverts often receive a better success rate. Other fan-games however simply have no other place to go and in themselves do not constitute traffic that would push original works of the front-page with a speed even approaching that of Anime fan-game works.

Then change the rules for fan games in the Classified Ads, because, right now, the way the rules are stated makes their continued existence without deletion or closing a violation of the forums rules.

Believe me, people (including Moderators) have brought this inconsistency up in the past. Beyond that though, I'm fresh out of things to say.

Perhaps you should inform some individual to remove their head from a certain orifice that the Catholic church feels should not be used for any pleasurable purpose, and that this person should most likely quit acting as though their frontal lobe is impaired and that they're acting like a particular product for feminine hygiene?

Is that just a fancy way of saying "get your head out of your ass and stop acting retarded you douchebag"? o.O

If thats the case don't say "No Fan Games"....Say "No Anime Games" Because at this point, it's not fair

Have you read the rules for Classified Ads? We changed them some time ago to address this very concern. What is the complaint here?

Alright, Stephen just said stuff like Star Wars and Eragon are ignored because they're not anime. Thing is, the rules do not single out anime, but anything that is someone else's intellectual property. The current wording is, as of this post, "DO NOT make posts for projects which knowingly make use of another person's intellectual property without their permission." Allowing stuff like already mentioned in this post is contrary to the rule set out, therefore violating and making exceptions that don't really make sense.

OK, we can reword that then. The intent is "don't steal someone's code and call it your own", not "don't make games based off existing products or themes" (which would exclude almost all games). Note that we do single-out Anime in the following paragraph, simply because it is a large enough genre on BYOND to warrant its own section.

I really wouldn't say themes are an intellectual property.
