The top answer by Jgallant, curious if this is possible in some form on BYOND.

Really would be nice to have an alternative lighting source instead of being stuck with basic-tile-based, plane-master, or some 2002 library.

A way to cast shadows via a object and plane-master would be preferred if dense walls could "feather" the light until it's not visible or even stop the lights "image" over the dense object instead of continuing to draw it after it has passed a wall.
