This issue has been resolved.
Descriptive Problem Summary: When a map is expanded using the map editor, the newly created turfs cannot be instance edited.

Numbered Steps to Reproduce Problem:
1) Download the following test project: http://files.byondhome.com/Higoten/Tests/ Map%20Selection%20Test.zip
2) Open the map file, use Options > Set Map Size > to set the map size to 50 x 50 x 1
3) Using the Move/select tool, select one of the newly created turfs.
4) Observe that the instance editor pane is not populated.
5) Using Make Active Object also does not result in the instance editor pane being populated.

Expected Results: For the newly created turfs to be able to be instance edited.

Actual Results: The newly created turfs cannot be instance edited.

Does the problem occur:
Every time? Or how often? Every time.

When does the problem NOT occur? Unknown.

Workarounds: Save and restart Dream Maker.
