BYOND Build Number:
Operating System: Windows
Video/Graphics Card:
Game Hub/Link:
Internet Connection Type: Wireless
Firewalls/Routers: Firewall has always allowed byond in,I us a router.

Problem Description: Recently I've been able to play games, but all of a sudden AVG said it was a threat, and now no matter how much I reinstall Byond, Dream Seeker will not be installed?

Steps to Reproduce Problem:
AVG users have been getting this problem a lot recently. BYOND is still perfectly safe, but AVG is detecting it as a threat for some reason. The only way to get BYOND to work would be to disable AVG.

How do I do this?

Add it to the PUP exceptions list. Check the FAQ on the AVG website: http://free.avg.com/gb-en/faq.num-1325#num-1325

Do not disable your anti-virus.

I tried and it did not find dreamseeker anywhere on my computer. I have used BYOND many times before.

Ah! Fixed it now. You must go to your avg then double click The Identity Protection. Disable it. Then download BYOND again.(Dont go on any games yet.) Temporarily re-activate Identtity Protection then go to Tools>Advanced settings>Identity Protection>Allowed list. Add dreamseeker to the allowed list.

I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone that I discover using AVG or any other anti-virus for that matter. Consider switching to Avast Anti-Virus. Just make sure you install it as an administrator, assuming that you're using Windows 7 or Vista. You didn't really fill out the form, so I have no idea what you're working with.

At any time if you have to disable or add a work-around to your anti-virus in order to get completely safe programs to work, you should really consider changing the anti-virus software that you use.
