So yesterday I deleted my filesystem with the linux command that most users dread or laugh at others for. rm -rf / is a pretty fun command, don't get me wrong, but I had intentions on installing Debian on the dead box whenever it was done.

Well, that didn't work so well. Into the Debian text-based installation, it freezes. I was really looking forward to installing it and running the KDE desktop environment so I could finally have a nice OS.

Alas, both installation CDs I've produced seem to give the same errors. Is it normal for Debian installation to stop after declaring one variable "(default)"?

Technical specs:
AMD64 Athalon Processor 3200+
528 MB of RAM (blah blah blah, I'm fully aware I need more)
Dell Dimension c521 build.
nVida G-Force accelerated graphics driver.

what's wrong? =[

Windows XP can burn in hell for lack of being found in stores and internet torrents without virii. =[
