This issue has been resolved.
Step 1: Hide BYOND.exe by red X
Step 2: Connect to any game
Step 3: Open byond.exe via start menu short cut (or just opening it from its folder, I'd hope)
Step 4: Watch as the border expanding animation plays through, but the window never pops up.

For me, this happens 100% of the time using those steps and persists even after I close the game I opened. If I close byond.exe, I have to join a game again before this happens.
Semi-Verified on Windows XP Home SP3 with 442.1020

What I experience:

After joining a game, when expanding the BYOND client from the Notification Tray by running byond.exe (through a shortcut or directly -- as opposed to clicking the notification icon) the window opens behind all other windows, and does not create a taskbar icon. When focus is given to the window (e.g. you click on it) the taskbar icon appears.

I am not sure if Alathon is experiencing the same thing and just had too many windows open to notice the client behind them, or if it is not appearing at all. Either way, this is somewhat undesirable behavior, and hopefully an easy fix.
