Since I got a hold of Theodis' binary heap and pathfinding librarys, I have become interested in the subject. I don't like to use a library I don't understand so I decided to learn all I could about pathfinding and in the process I pretty much came up with my own method. I uploaded a file called Binary Heap which is a pathfindng demo, it will find a path and update it while a mob is in movement. Just click on the map it should always get the ball withing 2 tiles of the target, (if possible).
