If an egg is put into a nest and the server reboots after that, you can no longer access the egg by rightclicking it. It will just say that there is no egg in that nest, even though the nest has a visual egg in it.

In this case I meant eggs laid by humans, but I'd assume it affects all kinds of eggs.
While we're talking about eggs, I've never been able to hatch a non-human egg, no matter how long it resides in a nest. | |
