Mafia is a game of strategy and deceit. Try to vote off the Mafia before they kill you all.
[10/21/09]Mafia's 7th birthday has just passed, marking another year without an update. Mafia isn't something I actively work on these days, because I consider it to be old and generally complete, but apparently, there are people who would still like to see it updated. Although I have fixed many of the bugs present in the current version, I am unable to update due to an overhaul of the core systems that I never finished. I am a bit strapped for cash at the moment, so I've been eschewing my BYOND projects in favor of more lucrative endeavors, but if you'd like to see this update come to fruition, you can help by donating:
If you e-mail me (LordRaven31@yahoo.com) your key with a donation of $1 or more, I'll even hook you up with a Mafia subscription =). Maybe even let me know what extras you might like to see in a potential update. (These donations are going into my "Dream Forge" donation account, because I don't want to set up another donation button just for this; don't worry about that)
New in Version 47:
-Change: Smelly Crap has revised the help page; thanks Smelly!
-Change: Several formerly dithered graphics now use the alpha channel
-Change: Subscriber class preference probability has been reduced
-Change: All class names are always capitalized
-Change: Job label colors are now consistent across "teams"
-Fix: Some class targets could potentially fail to clear and continue to activate in future rounds after the class has been disabled; this most notably occured with FBI Agent, but could happen with other classes under more specific circumstances
-Fix: The begin button wouldn't always be deleted when hosting powers were passed or when a round began (especially if multiple people had it to begin with)
-Fix: Lobbyist wasn't showing up in the political Know Your Allies list
-Fixish: The bodyguard code should be a little better now, but most of the situations I could invent for causing the bodyguard bug were pretty obscure, so no guarantees that it's completely fixed; I did add a new message for when a bodyguard fails to save their target, though
-Fix: The in-game class descriptions are now gender-neutral
-Fix: Mortician was immune to deputy arrests
-Fix: Logging out before you lose a voting round will no longer vote out the person with the second most votes
-Fix: The AFK command didn't actually work
-Fix: Mime was invincible to most killers (They also now close their eyes at night so you can't tell who they are)
-Fix: Unmuting works now
-Removed: The random vote command (formerly only available to subscribers anyway)
-Added: Around 100 new "random" words for those who know what that means
-Added: New, more exciting bugs for people to find!
Thank you, everyone, and enjoy!
-LR

Yes, anyone with host powers can ban; and unfortunately the game's unban is bugged at the moment. Unless you log in as a guest or use an alternative key, you may have to wait for the server host to reboot the server. That should take away any bans (not completely certain though).
Edit: You were IP banned. I removed it.

I'm asking this because I was banned from Sem69's server, and I think it's because I didn't say hi to ElPajaro1, the current host (he was the only one there besides me), right away. I was choosing an icon.

I'm not sure, but there might be a connection problem with your server. My internet is good and I never disconnect on any other BYOND game, and I end up d/c'ing all the time on this one.
I just hope the problem gets fixed, whatever it is, so I can not get kicked off mid-match.
