There are no real "Rules", because if you're too stupid to know what you should and shouldn't do, you get banned :D Unlike the typical US governmental system, I have no problem with banning people with mental disorders that don't know why screaming at the top of their lungs for five minutes while building houses on their neighbor's lawn :O

just don't spam through the chat verbs or build verbs and be nice to people and you'll probably be okay :D Chat is logged, and anything you build has a variable set to your key name so I can ban you and delete all of your stuff even if you're gone :O

Especially don't waste staircases. There are only like 200-250 of them to begin with, but if the world only lasts 200-400 hours (big variance, I know, but meh.) like it usually does then they shouldn't run out. There are also larger, more awesome, staircase-like things used for Towns (via Make Town verb) but that verb starts out disabled for people to prevent misuse and wastefulness of them since there are only about 35-40 to begin with.

When you first log in you'll have your build verbs disabled to prevent people from just logging in and throwing bookcases all over. They will automatically enable themselves after 1 minute for Byond Members or two minutes for normal people. The Make Town verb is also disabled, and only GMs can enable it. They're uberpickey about it for some reason though and may not enable it for you if it's your first time there :( Just use the normal Staircase verb until they decide it's okay to enable it. They try to not enable them for people they feel are "bad at building" or they don't think will ever log in again.

Byond Members get a few goodies, but really I just wanted to use the IsByondMember proc so that I could feel special :O

Members can change their font color of Worldsay and on the Who verb. They can rename their pets (just mobs that follow you around; people don't really use this verb) and make their pets use Worldsay. It'll announce your login in bold blue letters and play an annoying wav clip to the world, and you only need to wait one minute to build. Your "votes" in submitted suggestions will be bolded, but I really don't look at suggestions :O

Speaking of suggestions, if you want peoples' opinions on an idea, use the Submit Suggestion verb. If you want me to see it, use Report Bug (even if it's not a bug and just a suggestion), but you should probably make sure it's a good idea first. Report Bug is what I use to keep my notes in since Submit Suggestion doesn't log the yes/no anyway.
