Ace Attorney: BYOND Editionby Hyarion
Latest News: 5/5 - The server is back from maintenance, and it just might be a little less laggy. Also, I could've sworn I posted this here before leaving on my vacation from BYOND, but I guess I only put it on courtrecords.net. Due to college, AA:BE's updates are canceled until the end of the school year. Sorry about that! Just think of this as a demo of what's to come. 3/30 - The server was bugged, for some odd reason. I restarted Dream Daemon (BYOND's hosting program) and now all is well. 3/23 - The first Monday Update has been called off. Instead, we have something better- Flame Sage, an experienced BYOND coder, has joined the AA:BE project. He's currently in the process of reworking the code to get all the bugs out, most notably the disappearing animations and general lagginess. He also plans some extra features, such as touchscreen compatibility. Give a hearty welcome to Flame Sage! Imagine the Objection Generator. Now imagine using it in real-time to communicate with other people, socialize with fans, or roleplay characters from the Ace Attorney world. That is Ace Attorney: BYOND Edition. Part chat client, part Ace Attorney sandbox, AA:BE was designed with roleplayers in mind, but can be played by anyone who enjoys the series. Everything has been recreated exactly as it was in the games, down to the pixel. Presenting any piece of evidence, using every animation a character has ever performed, and, of course, objecting, are all possible. At this moment, though, only a small selection of characters are available, as well as non-case-specific evidence. More characters and evidence are planned to be added once a week (tentatively Mondays.) Some other things of note: -The current roster includes Phoenix, Edgeworth, Mia (as a defense aide), Gumshoe, and the Judge. -AA:BE has a comprehensive help file that will be displayed in the game window when it loads. If you're confused about anything, that's the first place you should look. -Due to the large amounts of music, sound effects, animations, etc., this game can have an unusually large "installation time" (the first time the game is loaded.) The time taken varies from computer to computer, but it only occurs once. -There is one known bug: if Phoenix is the first one to say something when you log in, then Edgeworth is the second, only Phoenix and Edgeworth will display properly from that point on (only to you, though- it will still work properly for everyone else.) I'm working on fixing this, but in the meantime, the workaround is simple: When you log in, make sure Phoenix is not the first person to say something. If it still occurs, just log out and log back in. That's about it- now go try it out! |
