Update Log

After the great conflagaration Ragnarok wiped all from existence, the world was left barren and the nine planes of life crumbled into one.

Ages passed and there was nothing but a bleak void. Yet, slowly, very slowly, life returned. The skies brightened and the landscape once again shown emerald green. Flora, and then fauna, returned. And finally, last of all, humans began emerging from the depths of the unknown.

Looking about them, they saw the remnants of a great battlefield. And of course, the remains of the combatants who once fought to death. Knowing nothing of the origins of neither the battle nor the those who took part, these young humans could only look to the past with respect. Regardless of who they were or which side they were on, the remains were revered.

The humans took these remains to the end and, looking for the blessings of the deceased, built temples to house them. As time passed, towns grew outwards from temples. Yet despite all their efforts, the remains the humans worshipped continued to crumble. As civilization reemerged, the remains decayed until all that left was a single item for each warrior. These items were collectively called Artifacts.

Each Artifact contains incredible powers representing the individuals they correspond to, but the consequences of wielding them are as unimaginable as the powers themselves. Yet, that does not keep many from coveting these Artifacts.

The recent actions of the Juton Faction to the north are particularly troubling to the Nation of Asgard. Tensions between the two forces have always been tense, but the Juton Faction has been pushing their boundaries further and further south. They now stand at the very door steps of the northern city of Loki. And word has been spread of the fall of several western cities, supposedly at the hands of rogue pillagers.
