Yes, your name will be on the standing boards (im assuming you mean pvp), mine is so im sure yours will be too.
No, you dont need any pvp to get to the earth badge, just gotta know where it is.
Level 30 is the level cap for now until the orange islands are released.

Make sure you select a chat type at the bottom right.
It alows you to switch between local, team, inn and whisper chat.
