Controls
Jeet Kune Do is best played using the number pad present on most keyboards. In order to use the number pad, make sure your Number Lock is turned off; the Num-Lock toggle key can normally be found in the upper left hand corner of the number pad. Certain keys have specific actions regardless of the character being played:
- 4 and 6 : Move the character left and right.
- 2 : Crouch (kneel) if standing; also used to fall down from ledges.
- 8 : Jump if standing, stand if crouching.
- 7 and 9 : Jump diagonally if standing, stand if crouching.
- 5 : Guard; can be performed in the air by some characters. Pressing it twice activates some characters' special abilities.
- 1 : Most often the punch button.
- 3 : Most often the kick button.
- + : Go through door.
Several symbols are used when describing how to control the different playable characters, they are listed below with their keyboard equivilents:
- P (1) : Stands for "Punch," denotes the 1 key.
- K (3) : Stands for "Kick," denotes the 3 key.
- G (5) : Stands for "Guard," denotes the 5 key.
- → (4 or 6) : Stands for "Forward," denotes either the 4 or 6 key, depending on the direction the character is facing.
- ← (6 or 4) : Stands for "Backward," denotes either the 6 or 4 key, depending on the direction the character is facing.
- ↑ and ↓ (8 and 2) : Stand for "Up" and "down," denote the 8 and 2 keys.
